 Lumber Yard Worker 

J&W Lumber seeks a well qualified Lumber Yard Worker that will handle lumber and building materials. The candidate will stock lumber, build orders, and keep the yard organized. The candidate will be able to follow manager’s directions and complete tasks as requested.  The position is physically demanding and includes heavy lifting and working outdoors through the summer and winter.
  
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Stock lumber (unload supply trucks and fill lumber shelves)
- Build orders (pull material from shelves and prepare it for delivery)
- Keep yard neat and organized
- Other similar tasks as required

EXPERIENCE
- Previous employment showing good work ethic and reliability 
- Lumberyard experience a plus but not required
- Forklift experience a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to lift 90 lbs
- Positive attitude with a willingness to work
- Bilingual preferred (English / Spanish)

Lumber Yard Foreman

J&W Lumber seeks a well qualified manager to join our team as a Yard Foreman. This position directs the activities of employees concerned with the yard. This position is responsible for utilizing personnel and equipment in order to achieve quality results and service.

DUTIES:
- Provide Outstanding Customer Service!
- Maintain Yard Inventory levels by using required reports and logs.
- Assure racks are fully stocked with quality lumber.
- Assign yard employees to areas of responsibility and follow up on.
- Oversee deliveries and maintenance of all yard equipment.
- Oversee cut-back and assure maximum use of lumber.
- Inform manager of lumber requirements.
- Assure a clean and safe working environment.
- Maintain a good working relationship with customers, employees, and upper
   management.
- Assure employees are fully trained in duties.
- Responsible for all yard services including deliveries and milling.
- Complete weekly reconciliation report from Assistant Manager.
- Always represents J&W Lumber with a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Working knowledge of all aspects of the yard.
- Knowledge of lumber uses and grades.
- Supervisory experience beneficial.
- Knowledge of office and operations.
- Lifting required up to 90lbs.

Customer Service (Lumber Retail Sales)

J&W Lumber seeks a well qualified Customer Service Salesperson. The candidate will help with counter sales which includes in-person, phone, and email sales communication.  The candidate will help sell and take orders for material used for decks, patio covers, fences etc. The candidate will represent the company professionally and will treat customers respectfully and with a positive attitude. The candidate will be able to follow manager’s directions and complete tasks as requested. The candidate should be motivated to advance and move up in the company.
 
   The candidate will be customer service oriented, highly motivated, and well organized.

DUTIES:
- Provide Outstanding Customer Service!
- Write customer orders, mill orders, and delivery orders and collect payment.
- Advise customers on lumber and hardware use to include bidding of projects  (i.e., decks, patio covers and fences).
- Assist manager in maintaining a clean, organized, properly stocked store.
- Open and close store as directed by manager.
- Assist manager in updating hardware and lumber prices.
- Assist in or complete end of day paperwork (i.e., invoices, charge tickets, pick-  tickets, etc.)
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Always represents J&W Lumber with a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Basic sales skills
- Basic math skills
- Able to handle retail cash (make change)
- Comfortable on computers

SUPERVISORY DIRECTION NEEDED:
This position normally requires periodic daily supervision.
